Slowly administer Lidocaine HCl over 1-2 minutes, containing 50-100 mg (1-2mg/kg) of Lidocaine HCl. Repeat the same amount five minutes after the initial injection if the desired result is not achieved. Additionally, the same dose may be repeated as needed at 10-20 minute intervals, with a maximum dose of 300 mg within one hour. If a single IV administration is successful and long-lasting results are desired, administer via IV installation while monitoring an ongoing ECG. The infusion rate for lidocaine HCl is 1–2 mg per minute. The infusion rate may be increased if necessary, with a maximum rate of 4 mg per minute.
